The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Monday, restated its stand that Nigeria’s minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama is not loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party stated this in a statement made available to DAILY POST by its publicity secretary, Mrs. Kate Ofor.
It explained that the statement was necessary to “buttress earlier proclamation on behalf of the party by the Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.”
“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock come 2019, Offor said, stressing that “Buhari should be allowed to actualize his laudable programme of revamping our dilapidated infrastructure, stamping out corruption and using Enugu coal to generate electricity.”
On a recent divergent view canvassed by some other persons on the 2019 presidency, she urged the media to “disregard the statement issued by Comrade Adolphus Ude.
She alleged that “The truism is that Comrade Ude and his cohorts had been suspended for anti-party activities, factionalization and breaking into the State Chairman’s office, carting away vital documents.
“They are yet to show remorse or repent for outright breach of section 21 (5) and (6) of APC Constitution. They remain suspended and should not be addressed on borrowed robes.”
She further noted that “I am at a loss on how the honourable minister, Geofrey Onyeama, after series of advice by stakeholders is still associating with Comrade Ude and cohorts who are working day and night to hijack the structure of APC in Enugu State to feather the presidential ambition of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar.
“Therefore, the major sin of our State Chairman, Ben Nwoye is his refusal to this obnoxious ambition to hand over the APC structure to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar.
“No wonder why the minister is singling out only Nwoye in his so-called probe of party finances, especially when he was neither in Enugu during the elections nor participated in APC affairs before his appointment.
“The State Working Committee of APC in Enugu State once more takes objection to the unprecedented acts of clandestine disloyalty of the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs to our dear President, Muhammadu Buhari in the sponsorship of an obviously adversary opposition group.
“In sum, it it is ironical that while many Nigerians are condemning the minister of women affairs, Aisha Hassan when she made an open support for Atiku, little did they know that the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geofrey Onyeama is covertly pro-Atiku.”
